Despite a valiant effort, the 7’s went down this morning to Old’s Park, finishing 3rd in the Zone, still a strong result and one they can be proud of.  Thanks to the many Members who came down to lend their support.

 

The SCBC Minor singles has been decided with a hard fought Final between Simon Boylan and Ray Power.  Ray continued his great form from the preliminary finals and emerged victorious

31 – 24.  Congratulations Ray.  Ray’s performance also earned him a place in the Pennants Zone finals team to be played this weekend, Best of Luck Ray!

With the Minor Singles out of the way, the stage is set for the first rounds of the Major singles to be played on Saturday 1st June.  The full draw is available below.  Please note that the top half of the draw will be required to play both morning and afternoon and no matches will be permitted to be played earlier.  The bottom half of the draw will have a BYE in the morning and be required to mark in the morning game.  Losers from the morning game will be required to mark in the afternoon games.

Major Singles 2019

Congratulations to the 7 Gold who not only finished top of their Section but second overall from the Zone, enabling them to move straight in to the Major semi final

Their first game will be at 12.20pm Saturday at Taren point with Preliminary Final and Grand Finals to be held on Sunday.  We encourage all members to get down their and support the guys as they take their shot at the 2019 Zone 13 flag and the State titles.

The 7 Blues  ran a brave campaign and unfortunately just fell short in the final round dropping into 3rd place.  Fantastic effort boys.  Punched well above your weight and Club could not be prouder of what you achieved.

NSW State Reserve Triples (players graded 5,6,7) 22,23,29 June

NSW State Senior Triples (players aged 60 and over) 22,23,29 June

NSW State Reserve Singles 6,7,20,21 July

NSW State Seniors Singles 6,7,20,21 July

NSW Veterans Singles (players aged 70 as at 6th July 2019) 6,7,20,21 July

Entry fee is $10 and entry needs to be made via the Club.  Please let Pato or Simon know if you are interested

These events are a great opportunity to improve your bowls and the Club encourages all members to take part.  As NSW events, these events take precedence over Club matches and players may seek a deference of club matches where required.

A number of Club members recently entered the NSW Reserve Championships for players from Grade 5 and below as well as the Over 70’s division.

Congratulations to Andrew and Alan who narrowly lost their section final falling just one win short of the Zone 13 final.  It was great to see a higher level of participation in these events this year which can only help to improve the standard of bowls at the Club.

Watch out for the Rookies events later in the year

Congratulations to Reg Chirgwin, George Kinniburgh, Frank Bollard and Peter Bryant (Skip) who recently defeated Garry Smith, John Keyes, John Longmuir and Simon Boylan (Skip) in the final of the Club Fours Championship.  This was the first event of the year and was contested by 8 teams in total a great competition!
